Welland Canal History (including rare photographs) – David Sherlock

David Sherlock is part of a Transportation family.  His grandfather worked at Lock 1 of the Welland Canal in the ‘30s and ‘40s, his father, Paul Sherlock, started working there in 1955.  Paul worked his way up to Traffic Control Superintendant for the Western Region of the Seaway by the early 70s. Paul collected marine memorabilia and was an accomplished marine photographer which has allowed Dave to assemble for presentation a sampling of Paul’s hobby as a Welland Canal enthusiast.
